Free-form Test
In many cases, from these results the control engineer can make adjustments in the control. Free-form test measurements are useful in controlling optimizations and especially for small-form contours. It's astonishing how often «inaccurate» many machines approach a specified contour.
An optimization in control here can remove a lot of accuracy.
